For today, here is one of my first photoshoots from the fall of 2011, in a park by Topanga Canyon. This time I ended up in front of the camera instead of behind it, with Karen as the photographer. I don’t know why but I only own mini umbrellas. The lace one is broken, the pink one is pretty worthless for hiding from the rain, but at least I found some use for them with photography!!

Back in September, my bestie/fellow photographer Karen arranged our first engagement shoot with Amy and Mike. We spent a beautiful day with Amy and Mike in the pristine Strawberry Farms golf course in Irvine, CA, the location for the couple’s wedding later this year. We think Amy looks exactly like Lucy Liu! Do you agree?

To kick off the blog, I will be digging through some archives of shoots from the past year. First up is a shoot with my dear college roomie Trisha, in a neighborhood park in east LA. The pollution in this town has the upside of creating a dreamy glow in the late afternoon. Don’t let the soft light fool you – Trisha is probably the spunkiest girl I know.
